Instead of manually approached by MM, hotel can register to promotional program offered by Traveloka in TERA, leading up to more opportunities and scalabity in the future.

Now Traveloka Accommodation, through TERA, have another source of potential revenue from this platform aside from hotel commission to Traveloka.

β˜•οΈ The Projects

Marketing platform serves as additional income for Traveloka. By default, property owners have a budget that they allocate for marketing. We want to tap this budget by selling exposure on Traveloka’s platform (search result, email, all/selected customers).

Currently, the process has been established but with limited participation from property owners (our system is not scalable and most of the request is being contained). We also have requests from hotels to increase their revenue through exposure/visibility by joining many programs such as ranking boost, popular picks, quick tab, social media exposure, etc.

Objectives

As covid situation persists, we are looking for a scalable way to establish new opportunities for tapping more revenue. One way that we explore is marketing platform (Smart Exposure Program) in which we offer exposure for hoteliers in return of commission increase, cash in or free rooms.

We also want to reduce the number of hotels that register to programme through Market Managers (Traveloka Hotel's Account Managers) so it can reduce the load for our MM to handle this program registration operational, by making sure the Accommodation Partners understand what is this platform and our offering programs.

Challenges

Many Accommodation Partners still unaware of our Smart Exposure Program and offerings, and how to manage expectation about the process and benefits for them. For partners that already familiar with the platform and joined the program, we need to communicate the process that currently handled manually by contacting our MM to join the program.

Many offering happen in TERA such as Advanced Deposit Program (ADP), Preferred Parter (TPPP), Marketing Fee, and for new development, we always build new capability, without considering the relationship with previous initiatives. As we are moving forward, we want to unlock more payment in capabilities (e.g. automatic commission increase, cash in, free rooms), we want to have the offering under the same umbrella, reducing business complexity (to have clear differences between each offering) and development time

If there is no one single source of truth to store all datas, each role will make their own documentations (and or report). We should create one accessible source to store and monitor all activities in all areas. So that the accountable roles can easily assess then be able to use the data to evaluate and create more opportunity.

Knowing that partner are looking forward to see the program report, we know that data can be a powerful proof, enough data points can be attractive gimmick we can use to improve the way we promote the program.
