My line of work demands an abstract value from a human: creativity. I often heard this words and its somehow closely associated with what I do on day to day job, but I personally think creativity is not only for designers or demanded only for design related job. I'm fortunately surrounded by people that kindly appreciate each other and I often get a kind feedback that I often found a creative solution on a problem and produce a creative design on that.
But then what is creativity? Here's a thought: often thinking creatively is not purely come up with something magical and new from ones head. To be able to draw inspiration from other's field and/or experiences and apply that knowledge to our own work and solution, is how we conjure an interesting and creative solution. Having wide array of interests can build up our knowledge and learn how to apply that to our problems, is one of the best way to get our creativity and imagination maintained and high. I believe creativity come from our deep understanding of the problems and ability to see the lines between different pattern we found in our life, and apply it to solve our problems.
After all, our mind and what we are thinking is very much build from our experiences, knowledge, and values. Filling up those with varieties of things means that we have more arsenal in our minds to tackle varieties of issues and problems in many ways.
